I have long been a fan of Robert Ingpen’s illustrated classic series and am so excited to see this next installment. For those of you who are not familiar with his work, Ingpen’s watercolor illustrations adorn almost every page, and every book begins with a portrait of the author and a brief biography. Gulliver’s Travels will be out on Nov 9.

This one really has me excited! Another wonderful retelling of the timeless tales of the sword in the stone, the quests of the Knights of the Round Table and the wizardry of Merlin by Carnegie Medal-winner Kevin Crossley-Holland.
UK release date of Nov 4 but I havent been able to find info on when it will be available in the USA. In the meantime, you can purchase it through Book Depository. Also, check it out at Waterstones, as they have a couple of nice views of Chris Riddell’s full color illustrations.

This blog is mainly about chapter books and their illustrators….but I just had to highlight this particular picture book – for obvious reason!
My son loves this line of picture books about a class of students, all with particular talents! I also love this particular story – about a boy with dyslexia finding his own way to express himself.
