Good Wives
By Louisa May Alcott
Illustrated by Ella Bailey
In March I did a post on the illustrators of Little Women, and the version illustrated by Ella Bailey was my favorite paperback. Here is the second part to accompany the first, in the same pretty style. Do note that the illustrations are limited, being only a frontispiece and a series of repetitive chapter headings (see above link for pictures of the first book), but the book itself is very pretty!

Cover illustration and decorative interior pages by Laci Fowler
Harper Muse is putting out a line of classics in their Pretty Books Painted line, and while they are not exactly illustrated, I thought to include them. Interior pages are decorated with silhouettes of the cover and chapter heading symbols (such as a ruby slipper in this title).
Other titles in this line are Frankenstein, The Great Gatsby and The Return of Sherlock Holmes.

The Mystery of the Monarchs
By Barb Rosenstock
Illustrated by Erika Meza
Fred Urquhart was by monarchs and wondered where they spent the winter. No one knew. After becoming an entomologist, Fred and his wife, Norah, tagged hundreds of butterflies, hoping to solve the mystery of the monarchs. But they soon discovered that they needed help. They started a “butterfly family,” a community of children, teachers, and nature enthusiasts from three countries––Canada, the United States, and Mexico to answer the question: Where do the monarchs go?
